‘Tis the Season

Jake has three younger siblings and they are currently at that stage of life when things happen. You know, that point in life when it goes full throttle and the next thing you know you’re sitting in a house you bought with a baby on your lap, a degree on your wall and a wedding ring on your finger wondering how in the hell you are going to be 30 in a few months. Yea, they’re at the beginning of that race.

There are two weddings happening among the siblings in the next few weeks. With that in mind I happened to be in the downtown area where we got married and couldn’t help but be nostalgic about our wedding.

I thought this sign was sweet, as it talks about the history of the building and includes that it was used for weddings. My favorite part is how it also reads,

“For nearly nine decades, “The Hall” has served as a movie house, live theater, basketball court, meeting place for the Minden Fortnightly Club, for worship services, weddings, funerals, County and Town meetings, politcal meetings, polling place, morgue and movie set, to mention a few.”

I like how they slipped morgue in there, like it’s no big deal. Really adds to the charm.

For reference, here’s us on our wedding day. cgb1050

Oh how it takes me right back to all the stress of planning, all the tears I cried, all the family drama which ultimately built up to one hell of a party where we were surrounded by family and friends.

I can’t wait to wear shoes that will inevitably hurt my feet, watch Gwen hopefully throw flowers properly and of course watch people I’ve grown to love become members of our family.

Let the wedding season begin!
